Iguaçu: You can reach the falls from Foz do Iguaçu in the Brazilian and Puerto Iguazú in the Argentine province of Misiones, as well as from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, on the other side of the Paraná river from Foz do Iguaçu. These waterfalls are shared by the Iguazú National Park (Argentina) and Iguaçu National Park (Brazil). Both parks were designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On the Brazilian side there is a beautiful walkway along the canyon with an extension to the lower base of the Devil’s Throat. Photo #3 by Benjamin Dumas

According to Wikipedia, “The first proposal for a Brazilian national park aimed at providing a pristine environment to ‘future generations,’ just as ‘it had been created by God’ and endowed with ‘all possible preservation, from the beautiful to the sublime, from the picturesque to the awesome’ and ‘an unmatched flora’ located in the ‘magnificent Iguaçu waterfalls’.” Photo #16 by Reinhard Jahn

Only Victoria Falls is larger than Iguazu, but Iguazu Falls are wider. They are also split into about 275 discrete falls and large islands. Photo #17 by Herr Stahlhoefer

On the Brazilian side, you get a superb overview of Devil’s Throat and the rest of the falls, from both above and below. Iguazu affords better views and walkways and its shape allows for spectacular vistas. At one point a person can stand and be surrounded by 260 degrees of waterfalls. The photographer noted, “Iguazu Falls in the very north of Argentina, on the border with Brazil. An incredible place with 3 sets of main falls, the Inferiors, superiors and the Devils Mouth…These are the Superiors. Photo #19 by Ewan

The Devil’s Throat is U-shaped; it stands 82-meters high, 150 meters wide, and 700 meters long. From the voting trends in the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition, Iguazu Falls is on the fast track and is a highly likely winner. Photo #21 by Ametxa

From the photographer: “The area of Iguazu Falls. (in Spanish: Cataratas del Iguazú) are a set of about 275 majestic waterfalls on the Iguazu River (the basin of the Parana River Basin), are located between Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, Paraná, Brazil and the National Park Iguazú, Misiones, Argentina. The total area of both national parks, corresponding to 250,000 hectares of subtropical forest and was declared a World Natural Heritage.” Photo #24 by Miriam C de Souza

GOOD COLLECTION OF PICTURES OF THE FALLS.THE FALLS LOOK FABULOUS.
One of the wonders of the world
Fantastic!I have not been to South America yetut this encourages me to want to.
I an disabled not likely to get there from new york city so a special thank you for making it possible for me to see this i never even heard of it before
I will never get to Brazil so seeing these fabulous falls was a real treat for me. Many thanks to my cousin for sending the photos to me.
AWESOME. No wonder it really deserves to be part of the New Wonders of Nature. Dreaming of going there someday. :))
I cannot think of a nicer gift as for a dear friend to share this with another. Oh What God hath wraught! Made my day! and many more for I shall print all of these and hang them on my walls.
Just thought. What a wonderful Christmas or Birthday gift. The framers had better stock up.
I visited these falls in 2004, and yes we did the boat ride – absolutely awesome.
These photos are great but these falls really have to be experienced to fully appreciate them.
We were lucky enough to go from both the Brazillian and Argentina sides.
Don’t cry for me Argentina, I’ll be in Brasil; not far away.
It’s my great privilege to say I’ve visited the Falls twice!! The first time, I thought my husband would kill me when I told him how much the post cruise extension would cost, but I had already paid it and it was too late to get a refund. The second time we cruised SA, he said his top priority was to visit Iguazu Falls again. It is without doubt the most incredible travel experience of our lives, and these pictures don’t do it justice!! Aside from being spectacular, walking out on the little bridge completely surrounded by the Falls and seeing multiple rainbows is unspeakably spiritual.
These are beautiful photo’s great job. I myself am an amature photographer, but I have gotten a few good shots myself of places I visited. I go to Alaska every summer and have had the opportunity to experience some great shots up there.
Many beautiful places to visit not enough money.
I have been there and experienced the wonder of it all. At the time I was there the water coming over the falls was colored by the red hue of the soil. I was further blown away by the birds flying into the top of the falls to enjoy the cooler air behind the rim. As one walks around the bottom of the falls there are hundreds of butterflies that great you. I viewed the falls from both sides as well as from a helicopter. If you have seen Iguaca then Niagara Falls is not as spectacular.
I visited the Iguazu Falls some 46 years ago and have been mesmerized ever since (seen the Victoria Falls in Africa and many others) There were no walkways as you see in these pictures, just path and I wondered about for quite a few days. I must see for any avid traveler. Unforgetable.
Incredibly breathtaking. Enjoyed seeing the pics
Very beautiful, I have been there about 5 times. The photos show the falls at low water, in the summertime the falls are more powerful.
The pictures are magnificent. There truly is a God.
I was born in Guyana,s0outh America, livingin ontario,Canada. Now I am retired in Thailand, and these falls make me feel how proud I am to be born in a region with so breath taking a scene it is difficult to express how unique this earth is . Stop wars and let Peace prevail
I would love to visit this beautiful area someday soon. I am but a lonely man from the US but I would give anything to be there to feel and see this area in my lifetime. I hope to go there soon.
I wonder if the water is wet……
No the water is dry!!!
Simply mind boggleing, Magnificent, Spectacular words cannot discribe!
Absolutely breathtaking! I hope to see this myself someday!!
this is so beautiful, thank you for going there and taking them, I will not be able to visit but in one way I have and our God never runs out of ideas, his creation is so wonderful, thank you again for making this possible for me
So awesome, will never be possible to go there but you have made it possible by the pictures.
Thanks for sharing
We visited in 1995 and the boat excursion on the river and to the falls was awesome. Most exciting thing on the trip. What a grand and breathtaking sight! Only God can make such power and grandure.
Words cannot adequately describe the grandeur and beauty of these falls. It would be wonderful to be able to go and see these falls but I don’t think I can afford it. Truly a Wonder of the world and thank God for His creation.

The beauty and grandeur of the Waterfalls are indescribable. It only reinforces that resolve for us to lobby to protect our Environment and to be cautious of developments as Hydroelectricity and other agents of cheap electricity. The worst thing that can happen in this 21st century is the destruction of nature everywhere. Brazil especially should be careful about its rainforests. I have enjoyed these pictures as I have enjoyed visiting the Niagra falls and the Kaiteur Falls in Guyana. Its the world’s highest falls. It has a drop of 745 ft and is located on the Potaro river in the Western Guyana and shares a border with Venezuela.
Such rare beauty God lovingly gives us. I thought Niagara Falls was wonderful but these are spectacular. Would love to venture on the walkways but don’t think I’d like to take a boat ride there!
Amazing spectacle by Mother Nature! I’m nurturing a wish to visit this incredible splendour.
WOW how beautiful waterfalls dad
i love waterfalls
we love the pic.
Quite lost for words – a brilliant collection of one of our world’s wonders. Like others,my travelling days are over but not my appreciation of such great pictorial records. Thank you.
My pictures of the falls are wonderful and our visits to both sides were amazing… BUT nothing can beat these photos. Dot
Wonderful pictures
absolutely breath taking & displays more of the nature that we can all enjoy!
If some one ask you a stupid question, where is GOD ? Show him/her this water falls, indeed he/she will say yes, here is a God.
I wish could go tomorrow. Amazing. I have seen water falls at Switzerland as well in Sri lanka but this is just fabulous, mind blowing. Thanks to sender.
wow! awesome! praise the lord 4 this wonderful earth!
ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!!!!
Just unbelieveable> Are there accomodations at the falls? Thaks again for the wonderful pics.
Yes there are accomodations on the Brazilian side within the Park. The sprawling building in Photo #5 is a charming 1930’s hotel and you can walk down to Devil’s Throat. The two figures in red in Photo #2 have walked across the road from the hotel to that viewpoint. Thanks to the poster of these photos; they have helped me relive my visit. Truly a wonder of the world!!
In 1985 I was working as an entertainer on a Cunard Cruise Liner. We dry docked in Rio De Janeiro for 2 weeks – a flight to Iguasu Falls was set up to take a small group and I was invited to be part of the group — I didn’t feel I should spend the $100.00 per person to go – thought I should save the money. I have regretted that decision ever since. Seeing these beautiful pictures reminds me of that time. Still hope to go there some day.
And I thought Niagara and Victoria and Angel Falls were awesome. Absolutely indescribable. Gorgeous.
I have been many times to the Iguasu Falls and always marvel at their magnificence. It is essential to see them from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides; as well as in different seasons, such as at the end of the dry season when the water levels are low and there is less spray, and at the end of the rainy season when the river is in full flood. These pictures appear to have been taken at different times; and some are not so recent, The walk way to the Devil’s Throat on the Argentinian side was party washed away some years ago (but shown in one of the pictures; however, it may have been rebuilt since I was last at Iguasu). I agree that the Iguasu Falls in some respects are more spectacular than Niagara and Victoria Falls (also need to be seen from the Zambian and Zimbabwe sides and before and after the rains). The Angel Falls are impressive by their height, but do not compare with the volume of water in the other Falls. These photos bring back memorable occasions. Thank you for posting them.
I have been to Iguazu Falls twice and travel extenstively around the world for my job. I always take time to see the sights where ever I visit and I must say that Iguaza Falls is my favorite place in the entire world.
Have ravelled – seen Niagra etc – but this is the best -! One day —————– b !! Len
Yes, these are incredible photos and I enjoyed many comments about their beauty. I don’t understand why so many people thing this is the work of some GOD type of thing. It is simply nature at its grandest spectacle. Somehow the earth caved in at this spot and viola you have waterfalls. I’m sure that the sun and evolution have controlled everything that has happened on the planet. Too bad evolution has messed up a lot of human brains which have then produced weird ideas.
These are some of the most beautiful scenes of waterfalls I have ever seen, thank you for sharing. Betty Cutler
This is incredible I am typing and my eyes are still opened wide this just shows the greatness of our God I hope that one day before I die I will be able to visit this great wonder. This is the awesome work of a magnificent creator
Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing! Hope to see falls in person someday!
And I thought I saw something at Niagra and Yosmite Falls, what a wonder our God is. Who can look at pictures like this and say there is no GOD!
The wife and i hav been there 4 times, due to family near by. Have bathed in the waters and have felt the shear magnificents, in what is called the, Iguazu Falls!! Thank u for pictures and helping us re-live our honeymoon.
How ! beautiful is our Earth,GOD has given us beautiful products,we should preserve it for our generations to come.
I have not personally seen the falls. However this reminds me of one of my all time favorite movies,
“The Mission,” starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. The setting for most of the movie was the area just above the falls, and the land below.
Beautiful photos . Like other ppl says that photos cant do justice but they make u feel go there sooooo much . I am going in oct . N i cant wait to b there on this natures fabulous gift to us .

NOW THATS A WATERFALL!!!!!!! ANYBODY GO OVER IN A BARREL? I DNN’T THINK SO!
The Falls play a major roll in the film “Mission” which I highly recommend.
I visited the falls in January 2007. I got my first view as I came around a clump of foliage in front of the pink hotel on the Brazilian side. I inadvertently gasped at the magnitude and beauty of the falls. I did it all but myt new camera ran out of batteries half way through. Thanks for giving me these memories!
Wonderful photos. I am an amateur photographer and would really enjoy photographing and viewing these falls. At age 89 and my wife at 88, I’m not so sure about this trip, even though we are in good health. What is your opinion?
The only word that comes to mind is AWESOME! I have been to Niagara Falls a few times. I have seen Victoria Falls on Television, but they can’t hold a candle to Iguazu Falls.
Awe-inspiring.It must give a person goosebumps to be there & hear the roar & rushing of the water over the falls. Too bad we cannot all afford to travel to that location; these excellent pictures will have to suffice.
I’ve been to both the Brazilian side “76”, and the Argentine side in 2009. It truly is a magnificent sight.
I took the full moon tour and enjoyed the falls late at night. If your blessed enough to go, take the boat
ride under Garganta de Diablo. It’s very exhilarating! One of my favorite places on the planet.
As a 76 yr old Californian, I’ll probably never see this in person, but it should be on everybodies bucket list. Thanks for this wonderful view.
You must be lucky to view the serene beauty of Iguazu falls. Really awesome.

I took my daughter to Argentina for her birthday in 2010. It was the most fabulous experience of our lives and although some of our waterfalls in Australia are quite spectacular, it is well worth the journey to the other side of the globe. I would do the trip again in a heartbeat.
