The C-141B Starlifter is the workhorse of the Air Mobility Command. The Starlifter fulfills the vast spectrum of airlift requirements through its ability to airlift combat forces over long distances, deliver those forces and their equipment either by air, land or airdrop, resupply forces and transport the sick and wounded from the hostile area to advanced medical facilities. The C-141 force, nearing nine million flying hours, has a proven reliability and long-range capability. In addition to training, worldwide airlift and combat support, the C-141 has amassed a laudatory record in response to humanitarian crises. The C-141, with its changeable cargo compartment, can transition from rollers on the floor for palletized cargo to a smooth floor for wheeled vehicles to aft facing seats or sidewall canvas seats for passengers, quickly and easily, to handle over 30 different missions. Lady Liberty we salute you too. As you celebrate Independence Day, spare a thought for our troops and for their families. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July! On a personal note, Happy 96th Birthday to my Great Grandma who is so wonderful that when I was little, I thought everyone shot off fireworks on the 4th just especially for her to celebrate her birthday! 😉 Photo #46 by DesktopNexus

Great celebration! Spectacular fireworks.
God bless our great nation. Out of almost 75 apartments where we live, we were the only family to put out the flag. – Long may she wave!
I was sent the link to this website and browsed until I ran across the 4th of July Celebrations. I am in awe at the pictures, the immense sense of what Independence Day means – the history of the times before the Preamble and the Constitution were written so eloquently…..”We the people.of the United States…..”. The pictures are a tribute to what the Preamble means in this country. Our country has been home, sweet home through wars, international conflicts that our Armed Forces are involved in, the sacrfices that all military personel make to keep These United tates of America safe; independent of any tyranny, dictatorship and wars on our Great Land. God Bless America, with all of its aches and pains, USA is still the Greatest Country in the world.
Spectacular shows. Thanx for sharing.
[…] Although we started this before Valentine’s Day to be ready for Valentine’s Day, we only had it partially completed. Instead we ended up spending that day at Grandma’s visitation and funeral. This turned into a sort of tribute to a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, age 96, who taught us to love simple things the best. To see the beauty in nature, to love picnics and fireworks and so much more. She was my biggest cheerleader in life. When I was little, I thought Grandma’s birthdaywas the whole reason there were firework celebrations on the Fourth of July. […]
Stunning, brilliant, beautiful, awesome, gorgeous, inspiring, heart-expanding images.
Thank you. As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, son and brother of veterans with a total of 76 years of active military service between us, I thank you sincerely.
